The Gobi bear (Ursus arctos gobiensis) is an extremely rare and critically endangered subspecies of the brown bear found only in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia. It is uniquely adapted to its arid environment, being smaller than other brown bear subspecies, typically weighing around 90-100 kg (200-220 lbs). Gobi bears have a diet consisting primarily of desert plants, roots, berries, and some insects. With only a handful of individuals remaining, it is one of the rarest bears in the world and a symbol of conservation efforts in the Gobi region.
