Pythons are a family of large, non-venomous constrictor snakes found in Africa, Asia, and Australia. They are known for their muscular bodies and their method of killing prey by coiling around them and suffocating them. Their size varies greatly, from small species a few feet long to the Reticulated Python (Python reticulatus), which can exceed 6 meters (20 feet) and is one of the world's longest snakes. Pythons are ambush predators, feeding on mammals, birds, and sometimes reptiles. They are primarily nocturnal and found in a variety of habitats, including forests, grasslands, and deserts.
