Rhinoceroses are large, herbivorous mammals distinguished by their large size and one or two horns on their snout. Three species are native to Asia: the Indian Rhino (greater one-horned), Javan Rhino, and Sumatran Rhino. Asian rhinos vary in size, with the Indian Rhino being the largest, weighing over 2,000 kg (4,400 lbs). They inhabit grasslands, swamps, and forests, feeding on grasses, leaves, and fruits. All Asian rhino species are critically endangered, primarily due to poaching for their horns and habitat loss.
