Lynx are medium-sized wild cats characterized by their short tails, tufted ears, and often spotted or striped fur. Four species exist: the Eurasian Lynx, Canadian Lynx, Iberian Lynx, and Bobcat. The Eurasian Lynx (Lynx lynx) is the most widespread in Europe, weighing 18-30 kg (40-66 lbs) and measuring 80-130 cm (31-51 inches) in length. They are solitary and secretive predators, primarily hunting small to medium-sized ungulates like deer, as well as hares and birds. Lynx inhabit dense forests across Europe and Asia, playing a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem balance.
